How does the half-season split work?
Each yard's runs are split into May to October and November to April, strike rate is worked out for both halves, and the swing is the difference in points.
Which jumps trainers do best in the summer?
Summer yards have a clearly higher strike rate from May to October than from November to April, and sort to the top of the swing column.
Which jumps trainers do best in the winter?
Winter yards post a stronger strike rate from November to April, usually because their best horses are aimed at the core season.
Which yards keep the same strike rate all season?
Yards with a swing close to zero win at a similar rate in both halves, which suggests an even spread of horses through the year.
How is the 2026/27 split running so far?
Public racing records and results from Britain and Ireland.
Questions people ask
Which jumps trainers do best in the summer and then fade in the winter?
In 2025/26, Mickey Bowen had the widest swing, from 23.9% in the summer half to 5.4% in the winter half. Sort the table by swing to see the other summer yards.
Why would a yard's strike rate drop after November?
From November the big winter stables bring out their best horses, fields get bigger and ground gets softer. A yard with mainly summer types finds winners harder to come by.
What does a swing of minus 15 points mean on this table?
A swing of minus 15 means the yard's winter strike rate was 15 points higher than its summer figure. The yard is much stronger from November to April.
Should I follow summer jumps yards from May to September and leave them in winter?
The table shows where each yard's winners came from last season, not what will happen next. Use it with the live 2026/27 split to check whether the pattern is repeating.
