What is RaceWatch?

RaceWatch is a horse racing data platform covering British and Irish racing. The free data pages at race.watch show strike rates

RaceWatch sits between a results archive and a racecard. The archive holds British and Irish results back to 1990, and every night it is turned into free pages such as who is back from a break, how favourites are doing this season, which yards are in form and which horses are rated highest. Each table states the window it covers and how many runs sit behind every figure, so a reader can judge how much weight a number deserves.

The member app takes the same data onto the day's racing. Every runner on a RaceWatch racecard carries its form, an RWS score, live best odds and tabs for draw, trainer patterns, breeding and connections. The free pages and the app share one database and one set of definitions, so a win rate on a free page means the same thing inside the app.

Who runs RaceWatch?

RaceWatch is run by RaceWatch Ltd, a British company. The company publishes the free data pages at race.watch and operates the member app and its Telegram alert channels.

RaceWatch Ltd builds and maintains the database, the calculations behind every figure, the website and the app. Pages on race.watch are published under the RaceWatch name rather than an individual byline, because the numbers come from the same shared data pipeline and the same methodology, whoever writes the words around them.

RaceWatch is a data publisher, not a bookmaker. It does not take bets or offer odds of its own. Membership is a subscription to the data and tools, charged at a flat monthly price after a free trial.

Where does the RaceWatch data come from?

RaceWatch data comes from licensed racecard and results feeds, a British and Irish results archive back to 1990, bookmaker and exchange prices, and licensed speed and sectional data tracking data covering British racecourses for members.

Results arrive after each day's racing and are added to the archive, which stores every run with its finishing position, starting price, Betfair SP where available, going, class, distance, trainer, jockey and owner. Declarations arrive two days before racing and become the racecards, the lists of returners and the other live pages for the day ahead.

Prices come in two forms. Live prices from more than 20 bookmakers feed the member racecards. speed and sectional data tracking data covering British racecourses, licensed for 2025 onwards, powers Speed+ inside the app and is not shown on the free pages.

What is free on RaceWatch and what is for members?

The Free Data pages, the Learn guides and the How to read guides are open to everyone. Racecards with RWS scores, market moves, Speed+ speed and sectional data speed data, Telegram alerts, Tracker+, FormLines+ and Angles are for members.

Free pages answer questions about groups of runners: favourites by going, trainers after a break, course and distance winners, draw bias by course and the season's leaderboards. They are built to be checked and returned to, because many of them change every racing day as new results and declarations arrive.

Membership costs £24.99 a month after a 30-day free trial. Members see the same measures applied to today's individual runners, with machine-learning RWS scores, prices from more than 20 bookmakers, alert channels on Telegram and follow lists for horses, trainers and jockeys.

Does RaceWatch give tips or selections?

RaceWatch does not publish tips or selections. RaceWatch publishes data, with the window and sample behind every figure, and leaves the reading of it to the user.

A tip tells you what to back a data page tells you how a group of runners has performed and how big that group is. RaceWatch sticks to the second.

Betting carries risk and RaceWatch is for adults aged 18 and over. Anyone who bets should set limits in advance, and free, confidential help is available from GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Is RaceWatch linked to the motorsport RaceWatch software?

RaceWatch at race.watch is a horse racing data platform with no connection to Catapult's RaceWatch, a race-control software product used in motorsport. The two share a name only.

Searches for RaceWatch can bring up the motorsport product, which is used by circuits and series officials to review incidents during races. RaceWatch Ltd has no link with it. Everything on race.watch concerns British and Irish horse racing: racecards, results, trainers, jockeys, owners, sires and courses.

How are RaceWatch figures kept current, and how do I report an error?

RaceWatch rebuilds its data pages every night after the day's results, and live pages such as today's racing and the returners list update through each race day.

Each free data page shows when it was last refreshed. Tables built on seasons move once a night; pages about today's declared runners update through the day as non-runners and late changes come in. If a figure looks wrong, contact RaceWatch with the page, the race, the horse and the figure concerned, and it will be checked against the source data.
